 Secondary Leading Tone Chords

  • In order to spell a vii07/V chord in a given key you must:
  • a. spell the fully diminished 7th chord.
  • b. picture the dominant triad, and start on the pitch a half step down from that note.
  • c. in major keys always add the necessary accidentals. 
  • In the key of C major, the vii07/V chord would be F# A C D#.
