Strict 2nd and 3rd Species Counterpoint!
- In strict second species there are 2 half notes in the counterpoint for every whole note in the Cantus firmus.
- In strict third species for every 4 quarter notes in the counterpoint there is one whole note in the cantus firmus.
- In these species you can have dissonant notes because of the weak beats.
- In this species you cannot leap from a dissonance to dissonance.
- Oblique motion takes place in every bar
