Triads
- A major scale triads consist of the 1st chord being major 2nd and 3rd being minor, 4th and 5th being major, 6th minor again, 7th diminished and 8th major.
- They refer to these as the Tonic, Super Tonic, Mediant, Subdominant, Dominant, Submediant and Leading tone.
- In minor keys the triads consist of 1 and 4 being minor 2 and 7 are diminished, and 5 and 6 are major.
- In both the major and minor keys the Dominant stays the same as major.
