Lesson 6
Intervals
- Major intervals invert to minor intervals and minor intervals invert to major. e.g. major 3rds invert to minor 6ths.
- To find 3rds 5ths and 7ths on the staff is very easy every line is a 3rd so the first line on the treble clef is E the second line is G that is a major 3rd.
- We can describe intervals as being major, minor, diminished, augments or perfect.
- They can also be called consonant and dissonant consonant are 3, 5, 6 and 8 and dissonant intervals are 2, 7 and all diminished and augmented intervals.
